Eating Out with Kagetsume: Pictures of Food

Poor [livejournal.com profile] kagetsume was forced to come out here several weeks-- and not even two weeks in a row, but they brought him out one week, sent him back, then brought him back again just a few weeks later. On top of that, he had to spend a night in an airport because flight delays made him miss a connection, and the airline wouldn't comp him for it. Jeez!

While he was out here though, we did make it to several restaurants, where I took some pictures of food. Because, you know, people love food pictures, right?

Here's the twist-bread from Tied House, which I hadn't been to in a while. I didn't taste any difference between the light and dark bread, though. They also had a house brand of root beer, which was pretty good... I'm finding that root beer is a bit too sweet for me these days though. I want to try birch beer sometimes, a co-worker mentioned it to me as an East Coast favorite beverage.

And here's Tied House's famous salmon fish'n'chips. Just as tasty as I remembered!

We also made it to a place called Barn Thai. No, it's not barn-themed, that's just the name of the place. I basically browsed around for highly rated, not too expensive restaurants and this one cropped up. I haven't been to a Thai restaurant in quite a while either.

Their spring rolls are super-pretty! This also made it pretty convenient to eat them, there's sauce at the bottom of each shot glass.

This roast duck curry was pretty decently tasty. I tried it because it was listed as their house special, but I think I'll go for the beef musamun curry next time, I am just not that huge a fan of duck.

We went for fried banana for dessert. It was okay but too much batter, not enough banana. Oh well! Two out of three is a pretty good score.
