A novel has to be at least 50k words. A 'short' novel will be in the 50-80k range, a 'long' novel will be more in the 80-120k range. Past that, you're in "heckin' chonker" range. "On the Wrong Side of the Mirror" is forecast to be about 8 books each ranging around 80k words, and "Alien Tastes" would be an ongoing series.
