For one thing, I pushed for eating at a real restaurant instead of the food booths. This turned out to be a great choice. After we passed several locations,

We got to the Benihana at a good time; there was a mother with her children and an Asian woman waiting for a table, and we just made up the last two for the table. I've blurred their faces out. The chef put on a good show, flipping eggshells neatly into a cup for disposal, even a behind-the-back move. The food itself was pretty tasty! I marveled a bit that despite the seeming abundance of sauce he had splashed onto the rice, it wasn't overly salty. Perhaps the hot teppan surface volatilized most of it.
It was a surprising amount of food for a fairly reasonable price. Definitely beats the takoyaki we had last time! Religiously vegetarian people should probably avoid going with carnivores in the group though, because the chef used the same spatula to make the vegetable fried rice as he did the various meats being cooked.

We caught an origami exhibit this time, which we hadn't last time. There was a nice black dragon here.

This dog was wandering around the paper dolls exhibit. The exhibit itself was much the same as last time, so refer to the link to last year's entry if you want to be reminded, but I did ask for information this time on whether they knew of any South Bay clubs or classes. Sadly, no, but the lady at the Japan Community Center told me there was this one person who came every month all the way from Nevada. Now that's dedication!
There'll be a beginner's class in May. I'm pondering going but I'm very reluctant to drive around San Francisco. x_x
After doing some browsing around, we headed to Chocolate Covered to resupply on chocolate, and then back home! It was a pretty nice day out.
