2015 Cherry Blossom Festival and Bacon Chocolate (Redux)
Around this time of the year, the Cherry Blossom Festival crops up in San Francisco, and
dracosphynx shanghai'd me once again.

We found these dolls in one of the rooms of the Japantown mall. They aren't made of paper; best as I can tell, they've got ceramic heads and fabric bundle bodies.

Please don't have nightmares about creepy big-headed dolls. :)

Here,
dracosphynx contemplates the empty-headed tongue-lolling fluffiness of the Akita. (a lot like one of my RP characters, actually)

We stopped for lunch at 'On the Bridge', a restaurant that actually is on the bridge that connects the two parts of the Japantown shopping mall.

I had a 'ginger pork don'. It was really tasty! Pork was a little firm but the slightly sweet, slightly savory ginger flavor was great.

Over at the Culture Center, they had a big bonsai display. Some of the bonsai wasn't all that interesting, but some were really quite nifty in how they evoked the sense of majestic trees while being, well, cutely tiny. I particularly liked the ones that dipped below their pots like the last one linked above.

There were paper dolls! I don't remember seeing this entry before. It's 'First Date'.
dracosphynx emphasized that I should go on dates more, but this is nothing new at this point.

Here's a terrible pun for you: Jade Chocolate's "Peanut Buddha" chocolates. I still haven't tasted the one I bought, come to think of it.

We stopped at Chocolate-Covered on the way back, and
dracosphynx pointed out this particular bacon chocolate bar. It seemed worth a try, so... I tried it. It's actually better in its bacon-meat content than the other bacon chocolate bars I've tried, I think it works reasonably well. I haven't tried the honeycomb chocolate yet, though.
