I dragged
dracosphynx out to meet
collie13 and her housemate for lunch at Cafe Artemis today, in one of my rare excursions into the Big Blue Room.
Things started off simply enough with what appeared to be home-baked bread and some sort of orange-ish herbed butter, then as an appetizer, "Chop Shish", skewers with small but very tasty chunks of beef served with a tart yogurt sauce. I noted, trying to cut a chunk of beef with the butterknife, that these weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Well, they must have heard me, because look what they brought out with my lamb chops!

That knife was big enough I could have credibly used it as a dagger! But it did a much better job on meat. The lamb chops were very tasty, sweet, compared to collie13's Adana kebabs which were pretty spicy, but very tasty in a different way. (if we ever head thataway again, I'm for ordering those next time)
There was a brief 'omg pretty!' moment as a new bride-to-be tried on her dress in front of the Trudy's Bridals store just outside the window. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pics of it; the sunlight washed out all the details, but it was a pretty perfect dress, I wanted to get a good reference of how the drapes hung on her. Collie pointed the mannequins out as we passed the store on the way out, but my contention was that they draped the dresses on the mannequins in a spiral fashion that entirely prohibits one from actually moving around.
After a bit of dessert at Sugar, Butter and Flour where we admired their highly decorated cakes, we parted ways. It was great to see Collie and Loki again! We should probably do it again sometimes.
I dragged
dracosphynx up to check out the recliners at La-Z-Boy next; for the amount of cash they were wanting for a chair, I wanted to be sure I'd be getting something pretty much perfect.

This is one I'm thinking about getting. What seemed odd to me is that they quoted 12 weeks to make these things, compared to models they had in the store, especially after how quick the futon sofa was to make. I'm going to do a little research first. There's plenty of room in my living room for one more chair, basically, and I figure a nice big comfy easy chair will fit the bill.
dracosphynx was a bit reluctant to help test comfy chairs, something about leg length, which gives me a bit of pause for thought: if chairs don't fit all people, how do you judge, or adjust, chairs to fit? I.E. for larger or smaller people.
