Of the pictures posted, the left panel of #2 is the one that I think looks best, but they're all interesting explorations of style variants.

Regarding dating, there's a fine line between "looking spiffy" and "looking like you're overdressing"; this is a function of both the venue and how far above your daily dressing habits you are while on the date. If I understand correctly, the level to aim for is the one where you look like you've put effort into your appearance (which flatters your date) but are still comfortable enough to consider your clothes an extension of your personality rather than an interview-costume. Mostly, you're trying to avoid at all costs giving the impression that your clothes do _not_ reflect the real you (which will happen if you're literally wearing a wedding/funeral/interview-only getup).
