tuftears: Scared Lynx (Scared)

No costume this time, sadly! And there was a raid in the evening so I didn't spend too long there; I basically got there, wandered around taking pictures and scarfing snacks, and then bailed. Maybe next year I'll arrange things more conveniently. By, say, not having a raid on the same day as the Halloween thing. Silly me. -_-

Arr, me hearties, if ye're here to party, ye best be following the rules or ye'll be walking the plank!

These photographs aren't in the order that I took them; after some thought I decided to rearrange them by general category. On the left side of the whole affair, we had the gateway to Tortuga Town. If I'd entered on the left, this would have made a natural starting point to the rest of the place.

I'm terrible at photography when the sun is so low in the sky. -_-

Davy Jone's Locker... Well, it's more of a lock-up, really.

This is clearly where most of the decoration bucks went!

Various piratically themed epitaphs. There was another cemetery next to this one-- perhaps to fit all the suggested names and silliness?

There were quite a few booths for piratey fun. As far as I could tell with this one, there was some sort of sword-fighting thing with big bopper swords and a 'sea' that one could fall onto without taking too much damage, unless of course one's costume included sharp bits.

OMG who let the skeleton drive?! The undead have no sense of direction!

Climbin' coconut trees is evidently part of the piratey to-do list.

Now you get to see some of my fellow Googlers all dressed up. The helmet may seem like your ordinary stormtrooper helmet... But it was made of paper. I kid you not. Made. Of. Paper. That's some fine papercrafting, me hearties.

One of several theme groups that were strolling around. These guys were all Minions, evidently.

Another example of my utter inability to take late afternoon pictures. These swabbies were providing music.

Yep, you won't be seeing much of the parrot here due to aforementioned terrible photography, but where last year's Googleween featured a rabbit petting zoo, this year had parrots on perches. No cage, so I guess they figured the parrots couldn't possibly go very far.

This pirate wench is defending her hoard! There was an associated scavenger hunt where accomplishing the listed tasks would allow you to choose one of the items from the hoard.

Arr, lovely pirate outfits!

These patently lovely mermaids were popular. I got asked to take a picture of someone as he posed with the mermaids. I guess I don't look like I'd run off with people's smartphones.

The food didn't strike mas as impressive as last year's sadly. Here we have a couple of savory bites.

And cookies. Kind of plain, really. I thought Googleween 2014's food was better, alas. Maybe pirates don't have much of a sense of cuisine!

Still, it wasn't a bad outing. Gets me away from the work grind for a couple hours!

Nice party! Love the mermaid costumes, even if they don't look very practical for anything beyond lounging by the faux pool. :D

I'm going to guess that the parrots had their wing-feathers clipped, letting them wander around but making it hard for them to fly anywhere.

If they're anything like the other parrots I've met, they'll also be most comfortable near wherever their handler is hanging out =^.^=.

(And they'll filch food. If you have it, they want it. Food that you are holding must be far tastier than anything discarded or voluntarily given to them.)

A lot of people agreed with you, they were very popular. ^_^

Glad I didn't have any food in hand when I was passing by the parrots then!
