Jared was out around Hallomewing time, since his company flies him out here every now and then for those meetings he can't usefully do from remote, so I dragged him by Bushido to try their Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Delicious! I ordered mine with extra shredded cabbage this time.
Actually it was so filling that we were both filled by half our entrees and took the other half back home. Good stuff.

We walked back and caught sight of this house done up in Hallomewing lights. There were ghosts that flickered across the garage door every now and then. I do believe that's the Stay Puft marshmallow man on top.

I caught Jared for one more dinner and this time we went up to Yayoi, the Japanese teishoku restaurant that Dracosphynx had introduced me to. I went for the "katsu toji" teishoku this time: a pork cutlet simmered in sauce and egg. It was pretty tasty for what amounts to basically a fried pork cutlet with some egg soft-scrambled onto it! I still need to try a couple other dishes there but I wanted something relatively straightforward this time.

I missed my relatives for Thanksgiving, but a following weekend we got together for Chinese food at the Dynasty restaurant at what used to be the Vallco shopping mall. (it's now been cleared out, so all there is there is the AMC movie theater and a few restaurants)
Clockwise from top: a miniature char siu bao (barbecued pork bun), a beef meatball, a pastry filled with a mix of shredded pork and red bean sauce, and a couple unidentifiable bits that contained various meat fillings. Yes, even though it looks like a weird fried noodle thing, that dim sum at top left is actually a crispy wrapper around a pork filling.

This is a tofu puff, with a bit of seaweed in there, in a crispy batter coating. It was pretty decent.

I was pressured into sampling these by the relatives. On the left, a steamed bun with red bean paste in the middle, which was okay. On the right, sweet tofu soup. Yes, I see that face you're making. I made it too. I tried a bit but decided against finishing it.
