Another week, another cooking experiment
May. 30th, 2010 02:46 pmThe mapo tofu I made on Friday came out just fine. No great surprise, and showcases the flexibility of tofu. Today however, was a different experiment - the homemade Philly cheesesteak!
Pretty simple, really: I diced half an onion and half a green pepper, sautee'd them, cut up some deli roast beef and mixed that in, then I put the mixture on some just-toasted whole wheat hot dog buns, on top of some reduced-fat Swiss cheese. Tasted pretty good, but next time I'll add a dash of barbecue sauce.
For tonight, it'll be yet another attempt at a crispy fried chicken in sweet'n'sour sauce.
