Yeah, there's much more of the lock-in effect than when we were young. I never would've expected WoW to last 20+ years. But I never would've expected Facebook to still be a powerhouse 20+ years later, either. 30+ years ago, the current big thing was never more than 5-10 years old and the next big thing was always Coming Soon.
