Star Wars: the Old Republic - what server?

Just a heads up, I'll be playing with the Basin as Republic PVE on the server 'Sith Wyrm' -- and the Lurkers will be running Sith PVE on the same server. Drop me a line if you are interested in hooking up!

Early access opens in a few days for people who pre-ordered early; I suspect I won't be in until the weekend.

I'm waiting for the initial craziness to die down and to see some more screenshots and hear about gameplay before I jump in but I'm super curious about it!

Well, gameplay is much like WoW. It's the voiced quest scenes and the fact you get a companion from an early level that helps you level, that really set it apart!

I'm all ready for a change of pace from pure fantasy settings. ^_^

Oooh...so very tempted! I looked over the classes and didn't see anything blatantly "healer" type. Is there anything like that?

I would think about joining but for two facts once, I'm already sinking time into DCUO and two, I've heard it turned into something very close to WoW with lightsabers which is dissaointing.

My boyfriend played in the beta. The game mechanics are, for the most part, standard MMO fare. The 'missions' are pretty cool, though -- they have storylines for each archetype to follow, and the stories have a lot of Star Wars flavor to them. Enough so that I am going to order the game even though I am sick of MMOs; I'll put up with the MMO-playstyle in exchange for watching the story advance, and getting some input into the results (you get conversational choices when talking to people, and the choices you pick affect how missions turn out).

While that does make it tempting I don't have the time or money to invest into another MMO.
