Walter Jon Williams has discovered ebooks and is releasing his considerable collection of books on a variety of platforms. The Crown Jewels in particular is a steal at $0.99 on Smashwords for a novel-length tour de farce about an interstellar thief, Drake Majistral, but his oeuvre is quite broad.

I mention this in case I'm not the last one to know about this and someone else might be interested...

I've been wanting to re-read those books for years, and been unable because the first one is missing somehow. :D

Sadly it looks like those books didn't do well for him! (http://www.walterjonwilliams.net/2011/06/maijstral-comedy-is-hard/) This is somewhat shocking since they are how I discovered WJW in the first place. Still, he shares some valuable insights on comedy as well as running down what happened with the Maijstral books.
