I was curious where they launched it from since there can't be that many private rocket launching facilities around. :D I guess they lease space from NASA at Cape Canaveral?

That would be dirt cheap, actually (though it's possible I'm mistaken).

Part of the reason rockets cost tens of millions or more to launch is that they're still custom-made hand-crafted works of art rather than production line machines, but another part is that the infrastructure to launch them costs quite a lot of money to build, maintain, and operate.
