Craving wafflz, I decided to invest in a flippable waffle maker. This one looked relatively inexpensive.

So how did it come out?

This is actually the second waffle... The first one I'd planned to sacrifice as there would be 'manufacturing residue' on the plates... but it stuck to the plate, due to me not putting enough oil on. I sprayed butter-flavored cooking spray on for the second round, which resulted in this waffle.

How was it? Pretty okay with a cinnamon-sugar topping, actually! I might need to use some oil in the batter itself, or make some kind of liquid topping instead of a dry powdery one.

Now that I've broken it in, I might try doing some different waffle recipes, like maybe the churro waffles popularized by John Scalzi,.

But it's a nice change from regular baked pancakes!

Huh, I find frying up pancakes for Shawn and me pretty easy and not time-consuming at all. Takes maybe 15 minutes? I'm usually doing other things at the same time like scrambling some eggs or sausage.

Oh well, different tastes.

Sure, technically baking the pancakes takes longer, but you can set an egg timer and walk off. The eggs and mixed veggies scramble are a couple mins of getting the ingredients out and putting them into a bowl (spritzed with cooking oil of some kind) and into the microwave often for a few mins, so it's all about "no attention required". };)

That said, fried pancakes do taste better.
