2016 Mountain View Parade -- Or Not
Apr. 23rd, 2016 03:28 pmIn my ongoing campaign to actually get out of the house every now and then, I noted that there was a parade going on in Mountain View. The original time was 12 noon, but they had apparently decided to move it up to 10 AM-1 PM. I figured there'd still be some part of the parade going on around 11-ish when I made it over there.
Well... Nope! Apparently the parade is really small or something.
However, there was still the 'after-parade festivities' to check out in Pioneer Memorial Park.

This art installment greeted me on the way to the park where the very small fair was being held.

Quite a few people around! It felt to me like most of the attendants were family with kids.

These people seem to make a point of showing the flag (so to speak) at these fairs. They had three of their vehicles out, with posters explaining their dedication to humanitarian efforts.

I found out that these people are apparently Samba Mundial, a samba school.
Bunch of less interesting organizations, some random food trucks and food booths like 31 Flavors (offering a subset of their ice cream) and kettle corn, and some kid-play-things and booth games.
Next week, the Arts and Crafts Fair! I'll definitely try to make that one.
