So this actually happened a while back... April 23rd or so. Unfortunately before I could post about it, I got flattened with two weeks of a very severe flu. So, belatedly, have some fair pictures!

This was one of the first things to catch my eye, on a side street. Not often you see this.

Closer up, so you can see the engine exposed!

A whole booth full of nothing but pens. Apparently their draw were bullet-pens. I doubt you're supposed to actually use them as bullets though.

Moar pens. I thought [livejournal.com profile] dracosphynx might be interested.

One of two major fruits-and-nuts vendors. I picked up some cinnamon roasted almonds from these guys, and some apple chips plus other almonds from Rodin Farms. The apple chips are actually pretty amazing stuff, crispy and buttery.

Like last time, I had a lamb gyro. Still tasty, but pretty messy.

I tried the 'Thai iced tea' style "cool beads" ice cream for a dessert. Not bad but I don't think I'm a big fan of the 'tiny icy beads' style of dessert.

They've started hosting a 'classic cars' exhibition at these fairs. I took a few pictures.

There was this one thing where the kids could get on and apparently jump up and down like a bungee cord jump thing, except with harnesses and from a much smaller height.

Plenty of random craft vendors. I noticed this one spice vendor but... Honestly I don't use a lot of spices I already have, there seemed no point in buying spices I don't know how to use.

Lots of twisted wire bits here. There's a message written in wire on the front but I have entirely forgotten what it says.

It was a pretty decently fun little outing, even if I didn't pick up any really interesting crafts! Just some tasty snacks.

The second pen photo seems to be missing?

*pilfers bits of gyro while you're not looking* =^.^=

Oops, fixed. Hey, what happened to my gyro?

Ooo. I can't help but stop and look any time there's a classic car to be seen. :) Except when I'm driving; then, I just feel bad that I couldn't stop and look. My "Fallout" creative sidetrack has had me more interested than usual in older ones. If I were fabulously, stupidly wealthy, I am pretty sure that my dream car would be a "retro" car. That is, not a genuine antique car (I would be too stressed that something might happen to it -- even if I had the money to get it repaired), but rather a replica. Or maybe even a "replica of a car that never actually existed," but still has a retro look.

Well, aside from the stress factor, the other appeal in having an antique-looking-but-not-actually-antique car would be that I'd want air conditioning. ;)

And, no, I doubt the bullet pen could be used as a bullet. No propellant/gunpowder, for starters.

Looks like fun! I really miss the fairs and food truck extravaganzas they used to hold at a local mall and a local shopping center (but which mysteriously STOPPED for some reason last year).

Yeah, retro cars are a thing. :) Asides from the obvious example of the PT Cruiser, I think there was a retro Bug, the Volkswagen 'Beetle'.

I took pictures because who knows, maybe someday I'd want to use them for ideas for making 'retro cars' in a picture somewhere. :) Having an actual engine picture to look at might work better than just making up random gears and pipes and such.
