Wearing blue in my ears

Some of you know that I'm hearing handicapped... But it's not always obvious just to look at me. I've been informed sometimes people try to address me when I'm not looking at them, but are frustrated I don't seem to hear them.

To remedy that, I've invested in some new earmolds... They are blue!

Once again, I have overcooked pork chops!

This time I went for thick pork chops from Whole Foods Market. These, I reasoned, would surely not cook as quickly, so I could reasonably sear them on both sides, then bake them to moist, juicy tenderness.

I was so wrong. When will I learn?

Fruit of the Farmer's Market

Not actually cooking, but close enough! There's a farmer's market down a few blocks every Sunday, but I've never been there... At least until today. Turns out my older brother goes there every week, and he invited me to go along with him this time.

Lots of fruit and veggies, and many of them offered samples. I tried a bit of a Pink Lady apple; very sweet and tasty! There were also a plethora of bakeries, and even a Chinese dim sum maker. Their dim sum are frozen uncooked so you can just take them out of the freezer and steam them whenever you wish.

Unfortunately, I had in mind cooking some sweet-and-sour chicken so I was a bit constrained in what veggies to get-- I figured zucchinis would go well, but they're evidently out of season! Asparagus are very, very in season though. Almost everyone had some.
