Status Report for August, 2025

tuftearsHappy Labor Day, those of you who celebrate it!
I celebrated the occasion with a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce, sweet potato fries, green beans, and a root beer float. Yum!
Eye doctor appointment. My right eye has actually improved a miniscule amount, which is nice. I should be picking up new glasses soon.
I have changed my email address in most places to my Gmail account, which should be hopefully long-lived and durable. If that winds up not being the case, it'll be a nightmare to change. It's somewhat surprising how central to one's life an email address winds up becoming.
I have written 34,400 words in the science fiction heist novel I've been working on. We are coming up on the final arc. Whoo!
Sadly, I did not win in the Efflorescent story contest. You can see my entry here: Last Bloom of a Dying World, and the actual winning entries here. I still like my entry better but I appreciate the other takes on the subject.
I have continued to run Starforged for my friends! They seem to be more or less enjoying it.
I played through Little Kitty, Big City, and the new Picture Purrfect update! That was fun. MEOW.
A new raiding season began in World of Warcraft, and my guild alliance has already cleared the normal instance and begun gnawing on the heroic version. Way to go, guys!
K'has held a memorial on August 8 on FurryMUCK for Tugrik where many people came forward to reminisce about their fondest memories with him. May his spirit rest in a better place now.
For September, I have a dentist visit coming up on the 25th and I also need to get new health care insurance, so I should start shopping in earnest for that. If folks have recommendations, I'm all ears!
