Want to get the first Sam & Max season for $5? Sure you do! Great point-and-click style adventures with lots of humor. The total season will run you about 12-18 hours of gameplay, so this is pretty nice value for money, IMO.

Date: 2010-01-29 09:35 pm (UTC)The adventures are fairly easy insofar as adventure games go. (That isn't to say that I didn't still need some hints at certain points.) That's not a problem, though, as far as I'm concerned: The segments are very cinematic. Plus, there are lots and lots of wisecracks and little surprises for all the "wrong" things that one does (and I would have missed all of it if I'd just blown through the game with a walkthrough).
In terms of character, it's very much Sam & Max. I really need to get a copy of "Sam & Max Hit the Road," so I can show that to Gwendel. (We recently got the revamped version of "Secret of Monkey Island," and Gwendel became a fan. She had missed it the first time 'round, since she wasn't much into "adventure games.")
For $5, I'd certainly recommend it.
